Real CAS, exact answers
Fractions, roots and π stay exact, and ◆ + ENTER gives the decimal when you need it, on a familiar keypad with 2nd, ◆ and alpha layers. Use solve, cSolve, zeros and nSolve for equations, inequalities and systems.

CASWHAT YOU TYPE, WHAT YOU GET
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
solve(x2−2=0,x) | x = −√2 or x = √2 |
factor(x3−1) | (x−1)·(x2+x+1) |
d(x·sin(x),x) | x·cos(x)+sin(x) |
∫(x·ex,x) | (x−1)·ex |
limit(sin(x)/x,x,0) | 1 |
deSolve(y′+2·y=6 and y(0)=1,x,y) | y = 3 − 2e2·x |
rref([[1,2,3][4,5,6]]) | 10−1012 |
Commands use the same names and argument order as on the TI-89 Titanium, so what you learned in class works here.
FEATURES
Fractions, roots and π stay exact, and ◆ + ENTER gives the decimal when you need it, on a familiar keypad with 2nd, ◆ and alpha layers. Use solve, cSolve, zeros and nSolve for equations, inequalities and systems.
Factor, expand, split into partial fractions and find common denominators. Take derivatives with d(), integrals with ∫(), limits, sums Σ, products Π, Taylor polynomials and differential equations with deSolve, and use the “with” operator to evaluate at a point.
Work with symbolic matrices (det, inverse, rref, eigenvalues), lists and unit conversions right on the home line. Graph function, parametric, polar and sequence equations, then find zeros, extrema, intersections and tangent lines with the exact value next to the decimal.
Point the camera at a printed or handwritten problem: equations land on the home line in CAS syntax, data tables in the list editor and functions in Y=. The AI keystroke tutor then shows you which keys to press.
The CAS, graphing and all calculator tools work offline on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. Calc89 is not an emulator, so no ROM image is needed; there are no ads, and Family Sharing is supported on Apple platforms.

AIKEYSTROKE TUTOR
Point the camera at a problem from your worksheet or textbook. Calc89 reads it, solves it with the CAS and shows you the key sequence for your TI-89 Titanium, one step at a time.
Take a photo of a printed or handwritten problem.
Get the exact answer from the built-in CAS.
Follow the interactive tutor and enter it yourself on the TI-89 Titanium.
The tutor answers by text or voice. Steps come back numbered, and every key is a tappable chip that opens the matching menu in the app.

FAQ
Yes. Calc89 is a CAS graphing calculator for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android intended for use with TI-89 Titanium. It uses the same command style, such as solve(), d(), ∫(), limit() and deSolve().
No. Calc89 is not an emulator. Its CAS is built in, so no ROM image or calculator hardware is needed.
Yes. The CAS, graphing and all calculator functions work offline.
Yes. It returns exact fractions, roots and π, and supports solve, factor, expand, derivatives, integrals, limits, deSolve and symbolic matrices (det, rref, eigenvalues).
Yes. The interactive AI keystroke tutor shows the key sequence for a problem on the TI-89 Titanium, step by step. You can also scan a problem with the camera.
No. Calc89 is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Texas Instruments. TI-89 Titanium is a trademark of Texas Instruments.
Yes. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, Calc89 supports Apple Family Sharing. Buy it once and share it with your children and up to five family members.
No. Calc89 has no ads.
Calc89 is free to download. Pro features are available as an in-app purchase; the current prices are shown in the app before you buy.
Yes. The iPad version runs on Macs with Apple silicon (macOS 14 or later) from the Mac App Store.
Algebra: solve, cSolve, zeros, nSolve, factor, expand, propFrac, comDenom, tExpand, tCollect. Calculus: d, ∫, limit, Σ, Π, taylor, deSolve. Matrices: det, inverse, rref, eigVl, eigVc. The in-app catalog lists every command with an example.
Phone and tablet apps are not permitted on standardized exams. The SAT (since August 2025) and the ACT prohibit CAS calculators, including the TI-89 Titanium. The AP Calculus and AP Physics exams still permit the physical TI-89 Titanium handheld. Calc89 is built for homework, college coursework and practicing the exact keystrokes for your handheld before test day.
Calc89 is built for AP Calculus AB and BC, college Calculus I to III, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, AP Physics and engineering courses, and it also covers algebra, precalculus and statistics classes. The CAS does the symbolic work, and the tutor shows the keystrokes for your TI-89 Titanium.
